Bovara Di Trevi to Poreta

The weather looks more changeable today. Whilst the sun is out, in contrast to the relative stillness of yesterday, it's quite windy. And rain is forecast for later. I ended up wearing my coat to go and get breakfast as my room was separate to where breakfast is served. I was welcomed in by the owner and invited in to a rustic room with a real fire blazing away. I enjoyed a pleasant breakfast including warm foccia and fresh strawberries in that cosy room. Shame I had to leave in a way, but my luggage had to dropped off at reception and the road ahead beckons.

Having deposited my suitcase, I've just taken a moment to sit by the window and pray the pilgrims prayer. I then lifted my gaze to the Umbrian hills the other side of the valley - dark in the distance - and the first verses of Psalm 121 come to mind:

I lift up my eyes to the mountains— where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth. He will not let your foot slip— he who watches over you will not slumber; indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.

My help comes from God so I am trusting Him to watch over me in all that this day will bring.

As my accommodation is in Bovara Di Trevi I have to walk back part of the way I came yesterday so I can join the official walking route about halfway between here and Trevi. Will head off shortly - hoping the forecast rain doesn't come in til much later in the day!
