In it are some prompts and prayers and at the start of the pilgrimage one of the things he suggests to consider is this:
Who introduced you to Christ, the church, and/or your faith? Was it your parents or a relative? Was there someone else who inspired your faith as an adult? Did you have a mentor, or guide? Think of these people as your spiritual companion on the journey. What do you think they might say to you at this moment on your pilgrimage journey?
And I remembered I'd taken a couple of short recordings of my Mum who ended up praying whilst I had the camera on so I looked them up and chose one to watch. This is part of what she prayed:
"...and we'll be able to remember You're going before us and will be with us and You will never let us go...and Alison will find You wherever she goes. And to You be all the glory and honour, wisdom and might and power. Amen and Hallelujah and Amen."
Not surprisingly this made me emotional, not only hearing her voice, but how apt and how special that all these years on that her words then resonate perfectly with this day now and this experience.
"May I find God wherever I go."
Now this journey is going to take a couple of hours, so as it's Palm Sunday I'm going to take a bit of time to reflect on the events of that day that lead us into Holy Week.
The crowds that went ahead of him and those that followed shouted, “Hosanna to the Son of David!” “Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!” “Hosanna in the highest heaven!”
